The road tilts towards the hill...it's engineered that way to prevent cars from sliding off. Believe it or not, slide offs are rare.

Sorry I took this a few days ago.

Nice composition and the sign makes it very funny. At least you have a blue sky

Nice catch - that yellow sign is the bomb in this photo. Love the leading lines of the road. And again - my god - how do you deal with this snow? I would literally never leave the house.

There's a river on the the otherside of the road. In summer months this sign is telling tourists there is a pullover around the bend in the road and folks might be walking across the road to take pictures.

Anyhow as I was taking images of the river a few minutes earlier a deer leapt up out of the snow bank directly into the middle of the road! She was 4 feet from hitting me in the face. She bounded up the steep imbankment and I thought....'wow, imagine dying because a deer ran you over while taking photos'!

I like your perspective and the explanation that goes with the road. Where is the pedestrian coming from?

The road looks so slippery that I can almost feel myself sliding down the hillside. The slight softness in the foreground makes it look as though I'm rushing through this particular landscape.

I can see a mental picture of you getting out to take this shot, and looking back to see your car sliding ever faster back down the hill behind you. I also like the way the figure and color of the sign works with the snow.

Beautiful scene. I love winter! I'm so jealous, we haven't had any snow this year yet.

The thought of driving on that scares this California girl to death.

Nice shot; I can't imagine a pedestrian making it across if a car were coming with all that icy stuff on the road. They need to put up one of those signs where the pedestrian is all wiggly and off-balance ;-)
