Thanks for all the comments. This is the first time I've submitted a photo, so I really appreciate it. The compression problem was an acident. I normally edit my photos in PhotoShop but I resized this one in MS Photo Editor and I didn't realize that it chooses a default jpeg compression that is incredibly low (it doesn't show the settings as you're saving the file). Oh well. I'm just glad I finally got around to submitting something.

I love the light in this photo. That long shadow is very compelling. Nice work.

Your corner looks a little scary! Very cool shot.

"Who knows? The Shadow knows!"
Very nice picture.

the low quality blurring really kills what could have been a very cool photo

I like this shot more, now that I have looked at it several times. My first impression was just "dark". I like the composition and the fact that the shadow of the person is prominent. lhall-6

Don't know if this was acident or intentional but I like it as an art statement.

Unfocused...I am also sorry that you live in an alley.......maybe things will improve,I sure hope so.I will pray for you.

cool shot. too bad the resolution is so low.

Big compression problem here. It's only 12k, you can go up to 150k! It might be a camera limitation though. This would be very good if it weren't overcompressed.

could be good - looks like it might have been, but you've over compressed it and saved it too small (notice all the large blocks, particularly in the dark areas) Hopefully you can get some hints on how to avoid this in the future (please contact me if you want some advice ) Gordon

This photo is a little too dark around the edges for my taste. Is this a safe place to be?

This is a really cool image... I love what I see here.. this image definitely has some compression issues. there is a lot of detail loss because of that... however, the lack of detail here... this has a nice surreal look to it... I would love to see the original on this one and help figger out what may have happened... = 8 - setzler

I wish you hadn't compressed this so much. I really like the shot.

The photo seems to have some problem, It's visible some compression(?)/blurred parts. The composition is very good.

Really neat idea, I am guessing, but I think the post processing might be overly done. Along the bricks to the left of the silhouette, seem blotchy colored. This might been partly due to the sun reflection, but it hurts the shot's effectiveness.

Very interesting. I like how the road shines. The person in the middle seems fuzzy to me. I like the lighting. Meets the challenge. 6 waltoml.

I really want to love this photo, one of the best I've seen...but it's all pixelated on the dark areas. I wish I could ask you what happened...-zadore

lousy quality...but exelent lighting and framing...wish I could get a better look at it...it is very arty this way ... I guess... is it done with a solarize effect?? was it meant to b this way?? I am slowly falling for this photo...takes a while for it to sink in

To bad, the compression is way to high. 5

Compression I think hurt this shot. I do like the composition. Good luck. Justine Score 6

Too much compression
