i went for a walk on the firetrail this morning and there's a place where i often find dragonflies flying around .. they are much easier than bees to photograph because they're much larger !! .. (i also like to photograph bees) ... & they stay in one place a bit longer than bees usually do ..

i cant get over the amazing intricacy of their anatomies .. they are an awesome looking insect.
OMG .. look at the hairs .. !!!
& it looks like it two sets of eyes ... the multfaceted ones and those much smaller beady ones closer to the centre of it's face .. then there's those really short antennae .. this one actually opened it's mouth when i was photographing it ... i wish i'd got a shot of that .. i missed it ..

i took some photographs of some rabbits from our bedroom window a while ago, i'll process them later .. it shows where i live more than this does .. well this is the macro version of where i live.!!

i've got heaps more animals to process from monday at the zoo as well ..

He opened his mouth? I would have fainted! This is a stunning macro with amazing detail and DOF. They are so unusual looking, almost like an alien from another dimension!! Cool capture Roz. :)

Awesome macro!! It does look like 2 sets of eyes. Kind of resembles a cartoon monkey face, too, especially with the hairy chin.

This is a great shot, but it makes him look so ugly! Needs to shave, was the first thing that came to mind! I love taking photos of dragonflies, but I've never gotten that close.
