pleasantly unexpected winter thaw..

the story to this one is the shot was taken after I slid down the muddy and snowy bank on my arse, slammed my 17-50 into the mud (dinged that blessed UV filter) & THEN crashed through the ice to get a boot full of ice cold water! LOL!! Well, NO WAY I was NOT going to catch the light after ALL of that nonsense...

After that, I got to slop my way back to Janey's house with a soggy foot & boot, thank goodness it was 60 degrees outside!
the best part of this story is that the day before, my kids had done the very same thing only they went both feet first into the flooded culvert at the end of our driveway. LMAO and got pics! no sympathy here from Mamabella; so they were quite amused to hear my tale of wet woe :)

oh, EDIT: levels adjustment using options, crop and sharpen, SFW/opt

Cool shot. Too bad the foreground in the left corner isn't a little less in shadow, but lovely nonetheless. Worth the hassle.

Worth the trouble. Sounds like spring has sprung in VT. Warm light and cool waters. Love the story too.

I like the motion of the water moving under and around the ice/snow

Sorry to hear about your fall, hope your equipment is ok. I know pretty much how you feel, falling my self in to a fast moving glacier fed river in late Sept of last year... :S

Either way, nice photo :)

I love the shade over half of the water. Must admit to getting a good laugh at your expense. Sorry... but thanks! Very nice of you to share a very pretty image, and a great story to go with it.
