Here we have my front yard...or whats left of it...Gone are my two trees, in their place I have two styling orange pylons!! Gotta love "progress" huh? I awoke one morning not long ago to the lilting sound of a MASSIVE John Deere track hoe merrily munching my yard, keep in mind this was at roughly 7:30 am after getting home from work at around 1:30 am and getting to bed around 3am. I stumble over to my bed room window (second floor facing the street) to see what Bob the builder was up to outside and what manner of mechanical monster was making all that racket...I flung the curtains back just as the boom of this devilish device swung mere inches (no I'm not exagerating) from said window...after picking myself up off of the floor my heart pounding in my chest I uttered a long string of unpleasentries at Bob and his croonies under my breath and returned to bed with earplugs, to no avail, I finally gave up and got up just as they finished and moved down the street...welcome to my world!! LOL.

It's bright out there! Great story! Bob the builder almost became Bob the dead destroyer.

Love your story behind the photo. Progress sometimes doesn't feel like it does it. It's a shame that you lost your trees and part of the yard.

Geez, Bob did a mighty fine job, didn't he? Loved the story and you have my sympathy. We just passed some construction on our road a few minutes ago. The sign said right lane closed (now keep in mind this is only one lane each way there). We got to the place and the put us onto the right parking area, the LEFT lane was closed!! That's our state of New Jersey workers, don't know the right from the left.
The shaft of light is really nice in your shot. Warms you right up.
