 This little sea otter was no more than 15 feet from me. I was so excited to be this close. I see lots of sea otters in this area, but they are always too far away. He did wake up for awhile and groom himself and then re-wrap his seaweed.

I think it's the good karma of this side challenge that let me get this close to one of my favorite animals.

how excellent getting so close to a wild animal and then getting such a great shot .. and i was amazed to read that they sleep like that in the water upside down . :)

Oooh! lol, I had NO idea what this was from the thumbnail, definitely a cuter subject than anything I was thinking! haha

Great capture, I love these lill guys too, have only seen them at the Vancouver aquarium where I got up close and personal with the ones there with a behind the scenes personal tour :)

That one looks to be up there in age, apparently as they get older their fur turns blond :)

Oh what a great capture, every time I go to the Cape coast here in South Africa I try to get one bt all I have ever got is paw marks on the sand.

this is so great! you are blessed to be this close to such a cute one of nature's creations! I adore these littel guyys! I bet your feet didnt touch the ground for the rest of the day! Good for you! you certainly made my day, here I am, at 10:30pm & I strolled into this, still smiling now

Great shot, and even better the little guy gave you a great diagonal. I'm about to go take a bit of a nap too ... I did an extreme aquatic exercise class and I'm plum tuckered out. I don't think I'll be wrapping myself in seaweed tho, LOL.
