 I so much wanted to enter clowns....what are there, like 3 entries? I would have finished in the top 5! Of course the challenge was announced they day after the Mummers parade on New Year's Day. And while we were happen to finally have the parade back on New Year's day, a rain delay to this past Saturday would have gotten me, I hope, at least one good clown image. I suspect conspiracy! LOL!

So I was going to do another self portrait in studio. But the glasses and my lighting would not have worked out to well. SO I sat on the front stoop late this afternoon and pointed the camera at me and my glsses and got this. I really don't think it's so bad. I would have lightened around the eyes and maybe done some Eye pimping as well. But basic would not allow so here it is. My first self portrait with my new specs...which are Armani! LOL! Poor Giorgio...if he only knew.

Post: Convert from Raw in PSElements 3.0 with a +1.0 exposure compensation and changed the white balance from Cloudy/overcast to shade. The background is the exterior lobby of my apartment building which is lit with a incandescent light giving the warm tones behind me. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue saturation. Layer of curves. USM. Resize. USM.

I can see from this that I age gracefully better on some days than others.

A fairly decent portrait, though not striking me as extraordinary. Need to trim those nose hairs.

I like how the colors and vague shapes of the background work with the rest of the shot. I personally would brighten the face up just a bit more, but otherwise this is excellent.

the yellowishness in the background takes attention away from the well shot portrait.
