Camera: Canon PowerShot S30

Arlington Cemetery. My first time in DC. I felt kind of bad because I didn't feel what I expected I would. The same was true at the Vietnam Memorial. I guess it is hard to relate to things that happened long before my time. Still, I felt a lot of respect and gratitude during my visit.

lighting is a little too sunny to evoke silence, the composition is good and the saturation is perfect. I like that you used the entire imagible area.

Gee, another graveyard.......sigh

Gravestones striking but seem overexposed - yet tree trunks are so dark - perhaps taken at a time of day when the lighting was too harsh. Compositionally not very strong - the position of the trees within the frame doesn't add to the image - why was it taken from this exact viewpoint? would turning a few degrees in one direction provide stronger shapes/ balance? What about getting lower down nearer the ground?

Great idea for "silence". Composition is great, and I think black and white was the perfect choice... seems to give the shot it's impact. :)

A good cemetary shot. Honest, simple and straightforward.

I have a quibble: The perspective line, and the eye, takes a zig-zag, and never quite makes it to the upper left quadrant of the picture.

This scores well with me :)

It would be interesting to see if the same image feels different when the trees are in bloom.

Seems as though the foremost tombstone is a little whiter than it should be. The bottom of it indicates the rest of it should have more contrast, no???

the idea is good, just a little bright

I'm getting seasick! Might have been better without the trees.

All the death..stunning reminder. Love the shadows. Little over exposed.
