Not very compelling artistically or technically. If you're going to submit shots that aren't particularly strong creatively, you should try to be sure they're technically sound (in focus).

contrast seems a bit low, and not sure if focus was right, (could be the little one is a bundle of energy). Good idea for the challenge though. Possibly best thought so far.

Very nice photograph. Technically, could be improved... the little girl seems to have moved on you a bit :) The color seems to be a bit flat. The crop seems to be a hair tight on the right hand side? As far as content, a definite 10... It's pleasing to see that instead of trying to find a smart, clever shot for this challenege, somebody just used the basics of what their life REALLY is... Congrats! - JB

I am rating this shot lower becuase this scene is not specific to your corner of the world. I can see the same setting here is CA. Also the picture is blurry or out of focus. 1

In my humble personal opinion, the focus for this image needed to be especially sharp. The light is too dull. It is nice to be honest and offer your true feelings, but instead of a very common family portrait, I would have prepared a scene of the family interacting with something else, surrounded by your geography (even the garden) and an appropriate light that would provide the warmth of the parents and the obvious beauty of the child.
