 A shot of the fireplace/closed fire through the vent door; a bit of work in Lightroom with exposure and white balance, then into CS3 for more color work, including two curves layers (including one in cross process, which helped significantly) and levels. Resized, border, save for web. I expect a middle score and my first request for validation (as it looks like it could be a diptych, but it's not . . . ).

I thought this was the most original out of the fire"place" shots. The texture is terrific and I like how you made this feel like a diptych.

maybe a little focal point on the ember in each pane would make this more interesting.....but this is unique

I can feel the heat but I miss some definition here and don't understand the necessity of the black framing.

Lovely warm tones but could have been expanded via levels or curves to use more of the top end for increased contrast. I feel this could be sharper, perhaps this is due to the resize for submission - I always do a final USM (100, 0.5, 0) after the resize
