great job bill. i'm no photographer, but i love the shot. smoke looks great and jones definitly looks like a comic at a loss for words in this shot. see you at the gym. |

I agree with the comments that the face (and chicken) were too overexposed. I wanted harsh lighting on those items, but it was a bit too much. On the other hand, I don't agree with comments that it didn't meet the challenge. It's no sleeping baby or snowy landscape, but I think the scene was a great expression of uncomfortable silence! |

Love this shot. The tonality is awesome. Your slightly blown out in a couple of spots, but not horribly so. Only thing is it doesn't feel silent to me.

very nice photo, the billowing smoke is a very nice touch, at first I didn't see the silence, it was a bit hard to tell that he's looking away from the audience for vindication, tough crowd? lol 8. |

Graet capture. You seem to have absolutely got it from the right angel; the smoke and you are capturing the audience without completly burning out the spotlit face of the performer. |

Great capture of atmosphere and expression, good fit to theme, face is a bit overexposed. Top image. |

I would like to see a little less contrast on this image. Your losing detail in the face and the props. |

Interesting lighting - the smoke captures that very well. Definitely conveys the atmosphere in a dark comedy club. |

What's that in his hand? First class shot, solid interpretation of challenge title. |

This relies too much on the title to get it into the challenge objective. Technique: a little over exposed on the skin highlights. Capturing the smoke curls works very well for this picture. |

Excellent! Good choice of sepia; great capture of tthe smoke. Too me a while to "get" the rubber chicken (a bit blown out). Subject's expression is good. I think you did a good job with lighing, too. |

A smoking comedian holding a dead chicken definitely has some potential, but the small and uninteresting audience kind of kills it, and also the way the man's face is lit. |

what a great shot, so candid ..the peolpe's faces in the background say it all. Though the border pulls my eye out instead of in. |

This one made me laugh. Thanks for adding some humour to this challenge. It's very well shot - just incredible lighting. An excellent capture and I love the sepia-type tone. |

This is great - was it posed or captured? If posed, I give you even more credit for it. :) - 7 |
