Thanks to my wife for her help in making this concept a reality.

Wanted to portray death, and sorrow, and the stillness in that moment when it all ends, I hope I did that accurately...

When people have to explain their processing in the title, well, never mind. Anyway, I like the grain, but the picture is only so-so IMHO. Frankly, he doesn't look dead. While technically you've met the challenge of "silence" that's about it. I'd like to like your picture but it's not happening for me.

Hard-hitting, gritty, reportage style. Black and white work well.

Excellent photo. Spoilt a little by the comment in the title though. Yes, some people hate grain, which is a shame. I don;t think explaining it is deliberate helps though.

Not bad. The BW makes the moment more poignant. My problem is, that this seems to imply violence, and I'm not rewarding violence with high ratings. 3

This is a powerful idea. I'm sorry you had to explain that the noise/grain was deliberate. It really adds to the image. In fact, I think iy would have improved the image to have added more. A surrealistic look would give the image more emotion and drama!

Very dramatic. It's too bad you had to explain the graininess in the title, some folks are anal about complaining about grain.

i hope this is not real! I don't care for the grain, i like it in black/white and it conveys silence well, but a lot going on in shot

I liked the photo, but think it is a bad idea to give instructions in the title.

I'm not a big fan of adding explanations in titles, in all honesty... let the photo speak for itself :)

(why the parenthetical comment?)

A very powerful image. I'm sure you're going to do very well in this challenge. It's very well shot and composed. There's a bit of noise, but it kind of enhances the image instead of taking away from it.

Did you get permission to post this? (Just think of me as your nagging aunt.) - 6

noise/grain is what I like about this pic!

nice job with the photo...the noise and grain may be a little too much, but i like the idea and composition
