Well, you topped my pin drop photo! Maybe a lower angle on the light to help bring out the background texture? The light falls off along the top- I'd have cropped that out, but well done overall.

the best of the 'hear a pin drop' shots in this challenge.. nice contrast in the color.. the shadow of the pin is great as well as the light reflecting off the pin itself.. interesting..

So quiet you can hear a pin drop? Hearing the pin wouldn't equal silence but the fact that you captured the pin so close to the surface is very good. Cool shot.

If I just saw this image, without knowledge of a challenge or your title I don't think it would say much to me and I don't think silence is the first thing I would think of

Looks like a nail. Shadows in the background are distracting. Seems a bit blurred. Besides this, it is a cool idea, like the frozen action. The suspense of action about to happen.
