Taken after a night of freezing fog. I had a couple close-ups of the formation but I think the effect is better on a larger tree.

Thanks for all the great comments. I guess I should have cropped a bit closer. Actually cropping and composition were at the far back of my mind the only reason I cropped at all was because I had a dust spot in the corner of the picture

Love the frozen tree but rest of setting (fences and houses) is just distracting.

Very beautiful picture, however I don't like the fences and the houses very much. The background is a beautiful blue and looks absolutely wonderful with the white tree.

maybe if it were just cropped around the tree, but the houses are distracting.

I like the tree. I might have cropped the shot down to leave out all the extras so we can just focus on the tree. The frost has a good contrast against that blue sky.

this would be so much better without both fences. the tree is gorgeous!

first thought is the fences are very distracting. a tighter crop would take those away. another perspective might have been to focus on just one bunch of branches against the blue sky. sometimes a minimalistic approach makes for a stronger picture.

The fence in the lower portion of the photo is very distracting. Try cropping that out.

The tree looks beautiful but the fence in the bottom and to the right of the frame distracts a bit, imo. I feel that they could be cropped out of the photo to strenghten your composition.

I'd loose the fence.

A little cropping would have done this some good (maybe removing the fence at the bottom) but the tree and the open sky look fantastic. Also, a deeper blue sky might have made the tree pop out a little more. Adjusting the color curves would probably give you that. I like the shot though, is it IR or just that snowy?

A tighter crop would have been nice, the fence and houses are a bit....distracting.

I wish you could have found a different angle from which to shoot this beautiful scene. The houses and most of the fencing are a serious distraction.

Fences and houses take away from the subject. Needs to be cropped tighter.
