Today, Mom and I went to Ponce Inlet in search of lunch. We chose this place, where we had eaten years ago once before.

It is colorful and there's this gigantic tree growing in the middle of the deck. Pelicans, squirrels, sea gulls, fishing boats, etc. It's right on the river.

We had a crusty waitress who informed us that we would have to wait 45 minutes for our food (we're talking fried stuff here - not gourmet menu). So we decided to share a bowl of clam chowder, which Joanie - the waitress - brought in two bowls.

My god, it was the best chowder EVER! Absolutely divine.

We chatted and I took photos and it was pleasantly warm with a coolish breeze - very lovely.

Then came our "food". Mom and I were sharing a grilled fish sandwich with onion rings.

The rings were cold and oily, the fish was limp and barely cooked and very-much-not-good - I mean, if it had been GOOD fish, then you can't really ruin it. I think this was the worst fish sandwich EVER and everything that came with it was hideous, too.

So there's Lighthouse Landing for you. We spent about 3 hours there for very good chowder and very bad fish, and overall had a lovely time.

I like your POV and the colors in this shot. That is a good story with it too. At least the weather was nice, and you didn't starve while waiting for the sandwich.

Looks like a neat place, and yes that is how I pick a place. I found a little coffee shop that looks very similar to this and serves the best coffee in Florida. Sorry about the food but keep on trying, you'll find the diamond. Great photo to commemorate the not diamond too!
