You know, Whiterook, your photography is improving no end. There is room for improvement, but I don't get the 5 1s and 12 2s - I reckon it is people seeing your signature chess board and being subliminally influenced to vote lower!

Nice idea. It's a little OOF, and the bottle is tipped left a bit too much. Maybe correct in perspective crop.

This seems like a genuine "Whiterook" to me.

here's a thought...

take a white shower curtain and drape it over your standing tripod...

put a couple of same wattage lights on either side of the now what should look like a teepee and shoot the same setup to obtain a different effect

I love product placement in photography... it may not glow in an artistic light the way other entries due, but these sorts of shots absolutely have a place in photography. As a matter of fact, a more profitable place in photography in the eyes of a commercial artist.

There are a few things that bug me... focus isn't quite as sharp as it should be, and the lighting isn't quite right, either. The tabletop pattern works well, so good choice there, but the candle isn't working for me - I think removing it from the dish so that nothing takes away from the bottle would work much, much better.

Thank you for the submission!

I'm not sure about the check table but the way the fire lights the "fire water" is beautyful, just like the patters drawn by the same effect.

Sorry, on a fire challenge I wanted to see something with fire.

I though Jack Daniels was "fire water"? Nice exposure, good color and saturation.

lights on the ashtray (?) are blown, crop at bottom is a bit tight. should earn more than the brown ribbon, though :)

Good job capturing something a little differnt. The composition is nice, I might try a little less light on the tray behind the subject.
