 I took this photo on a hike up into a forest near the Pacific Ocean. I was thinking of this challenge and wondering what I wanted. I thought a forest shot would be a cool idea and this is what came up. The shot represents the silence and stillness of a forest (although it can be lively as well, and some people may comment on that). I looked at it in color, but it seemed too lively and active. I realize we are trying to capture silence not lack of action, but usaully sound comes with action.

This photo would be better if the tree wasn't directly in the middle. use the rule of thirds.

There are many shots of trees in this challenge - this one really conveys the silence though.

Cool forest shot. It's almost perfect, but I wish you hadn't centered a tree in the middle of the frame. Without it, it would have created an empty, silence feel, but now the eye is drawn to the tree as if it has some special importance. Good picture, though.

uve met the subject, a vey nice composition, but it doesnt appeal to me, its very common and anyone can take this picture, i give u a 6.
