We went for a walk at Malham, one on the most dramatic areas of the Yorkshire Dales, but the weather was absolutely awfull, low fog and persistent drizzle so no landscape photos. I spotted these alpines (sempiverams?)in a garden in the village; unfortunately I didn't have my tripod with me, so I had to balance the camera and compromise with a faster shutter speed than was ideal, hence the shallowish depth of field.

There's a lot happening in this shot. Given your conditions, I might have tried to pick out something that'd line up in the narrow DOF, like the brown grassy thing behind the right flower looking thing (I'm bad at botany). The large blurred flower looking thing on the left demands attention with its color, but ends up being just a distraction.

Beautiful colors, and very nice textures. The shallow depth of field bothers me a bit because of the large OOF area in the foreground. But I see by your notes that you already know that. Still I like this image a lot.

I like the shallow depth of field - works well for this, I think. And I love the dampness of it, too. A better shot than the score indicates, in my book.

This is a cool shot, but so much is out of focus. I would have used a smaller f stop to get more focus, and more detail to the well lit areas.

Some good textures here but the oof fore left dominates too much.

The large out of focus plant in the lower right is very distracting.

I would preffer the reversed focus in this one, so that the foregroung flower wuld be in focus and background out of focus, or dipyh of both versions would be interesting

I really like the texture and colors. Only flaw may be that bright area up top that tends to draw my eye.
