Wow! I’m in heaven. THANKS for the ribbon and for the votes and comments.

This is the same feather I used for these shots (must be my lucky feather).


Wasn’t sure about the droplet at first but decided it added another texture and left it at that. Glad now that I did.

I’m so sorry you have to eat that hat, Vicki Trinity_12_12 ;-)

This is the Blue Ribbon winner! Has to be! You've captured many different types of texture in one photo. From the smooth liquidity of the drop, to the hard ridges of the main feathers and finally up to the silky softness of the the downy feathers. Awesome! If this doesn't win, I'll eat my hat! (Got to buy one first!) Well done!

8 - Nice clarity, composition and tones. Difficult, but for this Challenge, would like to have seen even more texture discernible in the feather. Seems to be some minor issues in the fore oof areas - but could be my monitor.

What a great mix of textures... smooth, ridged, fluffy... great composition, and the water drop adds a nice focal point. Great lighting to show off the ridges in the feather and catch the tips of the fluffy parts. Very well done.

The water drop adds another element, but I am not sure it helps. Is it the size of it or the placement? The rest is great.
