 Although the light today was dreadful I just had to try out my new lens - this was taken in macro mode at 200mm (and pretty sharp it is too for such an inexpensive lens!) Lit naturally and a gold reflector was also used. In the end I was pretty pleased with the results so I thought I might as well pop this shot into the textures challenge.

Not a lot of editing - just converted from RAW with a touch of USM.


POST-CHALLENGE:

Though I don't think it's an especially remarkable piece of photography, I'm very pleased with the new PB and a top 20. Thanks to all who voted and commented!

the simplest things around the house sometimes make the best pictures, i love this one, the focus and the tone is great.

Now there are some textures! I can feel each small item just by looking at it. Nicely arranged so that you could get all of the textures in focus, but still use a shallow dof. Composition may be just a bit too centered for my tastes, but you definitely nailed the concept of the challenge.
