 Grrrr this shot irritates me because I think that in the hands of a better photographer it genuinely could have been a ribbon winner.

The idea of Ghandi's statue in the oasis of calm of one of London's green squares fits the challenge perfectly, and I love the fact that I actually waited till one of London's famous red buses came by before I took the shot

Sadly when I got this home and uploaded it I noticed how blown out the sky was looking. Even with advanced editing it would have been hard to address this, but in basic it is nigh on impossible.

The funny thing is that when I was playing with my new 400D and macro lens I got some shots that would have been fantastic in the textures challenge, but to be honest none of them pleased me as much as the idea of this shot so I have decided to take the lower score that will inevitably follow and use this one simply because as an image/concept I like it so much more

I like the idea that you going with the perspective you used. Unfortunately it looks like a branch is scratching his forehead lol. I don't think I totally understand the image you were trying to convey but what I do like seeing is the area surrounding the statue. It looks like a very calm and serene place for a statue like this.

It's always better to stay true to yourself than be a sell out. I love the fact that the bus is passing by. Totally exemplifies the "hidden city" idea. I say go back on a beautiful day and reshoot! :)

Quiet city parks often serve as hiding places for sculpture. I wish we could see more of the Gandhi figure.

This shot seems to suffer from being oof and being over exposed.

I like the idea, but I think there are a few things wrong here, the composition needs thinking about, maybe a profile shot of the statue's face would have been better. The background is too busy, there's no particular point of focus. Also maybe if this shot was taken in the early evening there might have been a softer light to create more contrast, as it is the overcast day creates quite a harsh, flat light.

I think I would have preferred this as B&W, but the composition is excellent. I feel like the red bus is detracting from Gandhi, and washing out those colors might fix that.

Perhaps I would use a wider aperture to blur the background a bit and make Gandhi stand out.
