Challenge: The Hidden City (Basic Editing)

This capped off a day of street photography. I don't think there are any real secrets left, at least here. This was taken in the tabor center. On a mall with shops just like any other corner mall in America. This area used to be full of secrets. Now it's redeveloped. Around the corner one of the last secrets of the area was just shut down.

There where still plenty of interesting characters here though. Don't think you'll scare them all away. The banjo playing punk rocker who nodded his approval. The newspaper man who gave me one for free and suggested I send him pictures. The tin man who covered his face with an umbrella so I couldn't take his picture. The waiting dog. The santa in a wheel chair who told my one year old to take his naps so mommy and daddy could work on more. None of these people where particularly wanted there but they gave it all the character it had....

Although an obscure (perhaps "hidden") setting in some city, this image has elements that feel universal to newer cities everywhere, and make it seem strangely familiar.

Nice image, I like the reflecting window and multilayers of depth.

Duality, reflection and contrast are used quite well. Very technically sound, but what is that guy doing? Is that his arm heading out to the right edge of the picture? I like it nonetheless!

Excellent juxtaposition between the man and the structure in the foreground. I love all of the geometry.

Neat perspective view, I'm finding it not to my preferences, but it is a good image.

This is such an awesome photo. I love the urban look of it and the glowy light in the right side of the room.

Isn't it interesting how much a business' lunch room reminds you of a high school cafeteria? Scary! :/

I like the play of one building with the reflection of the second building. The addition of a lone person is a great touch.

I'm a sucker for these kind of shots. Brilliant use of reflection and I love the geometry created by the windows. Wonderful.

Really like the black and white. The photo looks busy and at the same time empty.
