too bad people didn't understand the challenge. This conveys "texture" very nicely. |

You're never going to be able to hand-hold a camera with a shutter-speed of 1/4 second. You'll need to support it either on a tripod, or on a pile of books or something solid. |

OOF hard to see any texture in the fur. |

The pic seems to be shaken and is fairly noisy. It has several pixelations, probably due to overprocessing or local overexposure. It also seems that the pic has a reddish cast, implying that your white balance is off.
It seems to me you tried to take a pic under conditions that your camera is not fit for. In this specific case, you might have used a tripod (or stack of books) to allow for a longer shutter time (@lower ISO), to get ridd of the shake and noise. You may adjust the white balance either in camera or in pp. Wish you more luck next time. |

If had been in focus and a tighter crop, then maybe you would do better |

Texture is lost in OOF. OK pet pic, but not enough detail to be good texture pic. |

Nice take on the challenge. Unfortunately not using the tripod with this kind of light makes it too blurry. |

I think being somewhat out of focus limits the impact of the texture. |

too bad here is all out of focus |

Out of focus completely, leaving me with no feeling for the softness of the fur. |

Sorry, I'm afraid this entry is fairly lacking. I see a lot of visible blur, and some highlights on the left of the cat appear to be over-enhanced. The texture is just not going to show through this. Lighting (or lack of it) was almost surely the culprit here. |

imo, the 'texture' in fur would stand out better if the photo were in focus. there is also something about the lighter orange spots on the left of the photo that don't look quite right. i'm really not sure how to properly describe it. |

Too out of focus to see texture. Lighting unpleasantly reddish. |

there should be more definition in the texture and the fur |
