Handheld. I had it in program mode and was really not paying attention to the finer details of my settings. If I had realized that was going to be my challenge entry, I might have opted for a tripod. 20/20 hindsight. Something to be aware of for future shots like that. |

It is a lovely shot. Was this handheld or tripod? You could squeeze out some more DoF by opening up more...maybe try f11 and go up from there. The texture and colours are gorgeous but as you say, the shallow DoF doesn't show enough of it...or rather the lovely perspective would really come out. |

Lovely detail, nice to include the brand badge across the image to contrast with the colours and textures of the rust and to provide extra interest/ focal point. |

Love the title. Love the texture and colour. Shifting the angle of the shot may have eliminated the distracting upper right corner, but that may also not have been possible at the time of the capture. Just a thought. |

Heh! If this is who I think it is, you're getting good mileage out of this lovely old beast. Very nice perspective and shows the detail and texture of the rust well. |

An oldie but goodie. Might have been interesting to run the name on a diagonal. Maybe not. Just a thought. |

I have to say at first glance I really liked this photo. However, because I liked it so much, I sat and stared at it... then I got picky...
The texture is beautiful and colorful. I think you're limiting your fan club with the baby blue border. Maybe over-sharpened as a whole? From a distance your focal point looks crisp and sharp, but when you get closer, the detail seems pixelated. You might be a touch overexposed just going by the glare off the F, but it doesn't bother me too much.
I still think it's a beautiful photo, though! You should do well. |
