 Cat Tails photographed against snow. Purposely exposed for the dark brown and let the highlights blow out to give an almost studio look.

Cropped, levels, saturation adjustment, shadow/highlight, unsharpmask, noise ninja, add border, flatten, save for web.

Cattails are everyday, but to me, this is not an everyday image of one. It is debatable if this subject fits the Wabi-Sabi concept. I have to say that I really like it, even if I don't think it totally fits the challenge. An 8 and a fave.

Love the white background and the high key treatment. Perfect diagonal composition (I am a sucker for diagonal compositions) and great colour & detail.
