 I sculpted a tiny family from clay, and a tree. Then I put them on black fabric. I lit them with a sexy 250watt smith victor light. I put a glass lid between the family and tree. I shot from a tripod.

The b/w conversion was done with calculations, some red and blue channels, I believe. crop/resize/USM.

yes, Jeffrey, I like this a lot. I like how it disturbs me, how it looks like an image of a family huddled together. It might be the infant Jesus or it might be the Pieta, with a cross in the background. But there is no way to get closer to it, no way to figure it out. The mystery is never resolved.

Oh. I thought it was a bunch of mangled toes with an enormous demon face in the background. Maybe I should adjust my set. Happy Holidays. T

The bokeh is nice apart from the harsh bit above and to the left of the statuettes, also they arent completely in focus which throws the viewer as it is obviously all the same subject and thus should be treated as such :(

It is a little bit hard to make out what exactly the subject is, but I really like the idea here. The dark shadows and the shallow DOF are really nice!

I love the bokeh and the minimalist approach alot. It's a bit hard to tell what the figurines are, though.
