The use of negative space here doesn't make sense to me. You left in what looks like lens flare and placed the true subject of the shot too high. Overall a not so interesting shot made less so by a rather unusual choice of composition. Your fancy frame doesn't add any thing to the mix either...

The frame distracts from the image, which is too dark & unsharp. |

Nice idea and nice composition. What bothers me here is this:
- I'm not sure if the softness was intentional but the focus is a little soft for my taste, nothing "pops".
- The border is a little much in this case, it's a simple shot, I would have preferred a simple border or none at all.
The colors are nice though. Score: 4
Good job nonetheless and good luck. |

What's the spot on the bottom? Some kind of reflection of the candlelight? I'd rather have seen everything in black except the top of the candle. |

INteresting interpretation of the challenge. Definately a peaceful image. I'm not sure about your composition, though. I think I would rather see the flame lower in the image. |

Interesting image. A candle burning silently lacks context. Include more detail in the background. Spend less time on the frame, it's not as important as what you are trying to convey. |

Could use a bit more edge delineation/rim lighting (at least on one additional side of candle) to help viewer find their bearings. I'll have to assume that the lower dull light is the flame's reflection on some sort of surface. Too many things to guess at here on a subject that should be easy to distinguish.... kinda cool in it's own abstract way, but rather distracting at the same time. Needs more visual info if you're going to convince viewers that THIS is the ultimate vision of silence. :) |

Silent flicker of the dancing flame.... but what of the frame? |

the border takes away from your image, pulling the eye out instead of inward |

Silent, yes. But this photo really just lacks any interest to me. |

Think the image might need a litle more sharpness. The border (or frame) I think is way to much. |

not too crazy about the frame, like the placement of the flame and the reflection. |

too much empty and meaningless space, not enough direction for the eye |
