 Lovely cloudly day against the winter pine trees! Tried to use the diagonal of the trees against the opposing diagonal of the clouds. Had to make several images to get the clouds in the proper location. Tried various crops, but decided to leave more trees rather than less trees. Oddly, I was un aware of the challenge theme, and actually was creating an image that showed the beauty of the starkness of the treses against the clouds. No sunset, just the weather. Then, I adjusted neutral color balance, saturated a little more than Fuji does,altered the hue just a bit, and adjusted levels to try to get pure black (got to 88%) and pure white (Zone photography from Ansel Adams), noise ninja - cropped and re sized.

I really like the contrast of the sepia toned trees against the cloudy sky. I don't know if the composition is flowing for me, though.

Gorgeous, I really like this one. This to me is exactly the thought of the challenge. I really like the way you framed this shot. Perfect amount of foreground pine to offset the gorgeous sky behind. Just a very nice capture of a wonderfully dynamic sky.

The detail of the needles (I think that's what they are) against the sky is quite striking.

Somehow the fall of the branches in this really does create a sense of beauty beyond the "usual landscape". Nicely seen.
