NOt the subject I originally shot, but decided after thinking that I wanted a more definitely flawed subject than my original idea. This particular pitcher is the one we always use to pour water in the Christmas tree stand, crack notwithstanding. Tradition is tradition. It's gotta' be at least 26 years old.
It's rather plain, so I took it outside at sunset to see if I could pick up nice lights along the bubbles in the glass and the crack near the handle. I like the abstract curves and am reasonably pleased with the light catching the flaws in a nice way. Would probably have toned down the bright highlights in the lower left if this were advanced editing. Not a ribbon-winner, certainly, but a better shot for this challenge than my original idea. I think the shot I liked from the other series will go into the FS.
PP - converted from RAW, rotated slightly, cropped, levels, duotone (black to pale cyan), increased contrast, increased saturation, USM, added border, resized, sharpened. |

This is a nice image. Lots of detail showing. One of those images that could benefit from more than 640 pixels. I like your choice of the bluish tone. This fits both "everyday" and "Wabi-Sabi". |
