Wow thanks for the votes and the comments.
Here are some alternates from the same shoot that maybe I should have used:
Another Take
or
Another Take Two
Not that it matters at this point, but I thought it might be worth mentioning... There were a few valid comments about the model looking too young for the tombstone. I guess what I was thinking but didn't convey well was the idea that she was living forever (not aging) and the people she loved were dying around her normally. She was *much* older than she looked while living out her eternity.
Not sure what to say about the pose. Except that we thought it would be more interesting to have her hugging the stone rather than kneeling at it. Which has been done to death. No pun intended.
All I can do is try again and hope I do better next time.

Pretty though she is, I'm not sure this pose is appropriate for the tone of the picture, not as I'm reading it anyhow. She's sort of posed like a catalogue model |

I think this would have done better in the heaven challenge because all i am seeing is beauty. The title could be "waiting for you in heaven" or someting like that. Still i get where you are going with this:) beautyfull capture..

I like the concept here, but the execution doesn't work for me. Why? Three main reasons: 1. the young woman is at LEAST a couple generations removed from the putative ancestors under the stone, so I ask myself "How can they really be loved ones?" 2. The pose, especially the exposed leg, seems more provocative than anything else, though I admit it's not all that provocative. 3. The facial expression does not say anything to me about sorrow or loss. It is curiously neutral, and if it says anything to me at all, it's a sort of baby "come hither" look.
So the concept, and how you did the posing, seem at odds with each other. It's nicely lit and well done, technically. |

I'm torn with this picture. Great beautiful model. Nice eyes. Not certain what she's doing with that headstone. Looks sexual in some way. I think it takes away from the subject.
I'm going to pass on this one and not actually vote on it. Nice shot. Good luck. |

i like this photo a lot. the environment and colours are great. the only thing i would say could be better is the model's pose and expression. it looks to me more 'sexy' than 'suffering from loss'. |

Nice idea, but there are two things that would have made me score higher. 1) newer grave, I just don't feel as she knew someone who died in 1879. 2) I've been to funerals, noone shows that much leg. It just doesn't go with the title. |

That is an unfortunate pinecone in this photo...or at least the placement of it is. Or maybe it's her tail? Nice photo though. |

nice clarity, but i don't really get why she's dressed up. maybe if the model looked more sad... |

I like the qualities of the shot quite a bit. Very attractive girl, and she looks genuinely sad and everything. The only thing that strikes me as being kinda weird is that she's grieving at a tomb of someone she could have never known, considering it's from the 1800s. It would have probably had a better, more credible impact if it was a more recent stone. |

Would have preferred to see this one in B/W with a bit more sadness/emotion.. I like the photo though. |
