I think B&W makes this a little too flat, myself. I like color in this kind of shot :-) 7 nards656

I love this! It's my last photo to rate this week, but I'm in a rush to go somewhere so I can't comment much. It's nice to end by giving out my last 10 - lisae

Very pretty... doesn't look like the best river for canoeing, though! :)

Let me guess, you're a Ansel protege. (He'd be very proud of you.)

excellent use of a deep depth of field... i used to hunt for 'crawdads' in a creek that looked like this when I was young :) - setzler

like the perspective you've used here, works well in B&W/ toned
09/25/2002 01:04:00 PM
nice in black 'n white!
09/25/2002 05:29:00 AM
Creative choice of tone. I like it. Composition is also very nice and it looks like it would be fun to go there. :-)

Two steps to left or right might improve composition. Still, an appealing photograph. JEM

Great depth of field and perspective on this one...nicely composed as well, and it has a quiet moodiness to it...reminds me of an overcast day with rain approaching...it seems like everything is hushed and private thoughts about life are going on. Excellent in black and white...really sets the mood. Well done.

very nice and sharp.

Love this photo, I would like to see it in color too! I bet it was a beautiful day
09/23/2002 08:42:00 PM
I like the bleached look of the photo
09/23/2002 03:23:00 PM
Nice. I would have liked the horizon line a little lower
09/23/2002 02:22:00 PM
I like this, especially the overall "feel" of it, and the color (or non-color!). I also like the range of dark and light. Had it been my shot, I have to admit that I would have taken the shot by moving my framing up about a third from the bottom, making my bottom frame right below where the rocks become tightly packed together, (just enough to show water), and would have tried to show more of the height of the trees. lhall-9

I can see where it got it's name, good composition and lighting. I am drawn up the Creek. Overall, an excellent shot. DPz

Pretty shot, love the perspective and the b&w. Good luck Score 7 Justine
09/23/2002 03:28:00 AM
Lovely scene. Perhaps a little too bright still for a B/W
09/23/2002 01:57:00 AM
I think that this image could have been a bit darker cause alot of the highlights are blown out, this would have also made the image alot moodier, nice shot though!!
09/22/2002 09:54:00 PM
that very perty
09/22/2002 09:41:00 PM
This is a lovely photo, but i wondered if you're going to get dogged due to the lack of detail in the photo, possibly due to the JPEG size requirement (lame, i know). Other than that i can imagine a very nicely detailed image with the exception of the sky being too bright. Still, nice composition. paganini 8
