Agree, sad shot, although I'm sure the chimp probably is content - no way to tell. Regardless, those are the emotions that the photo elicit. |

Hairless and faceless, gorilla is even more certainly us. Lonely, sad, thoughtful, deeply reflective. (If he is just opening a bag of peanuts you'd have shown us, and in colour. As it is, the mid greys mirroring of lines in the back and the tree trunk bases and the shock of hairlessness take us into our imagination). |

This is so very, very sad. Poor guy. It is indeed quite reminiscent of Golem. Very well presented in B&W to create the stark feeling, too. |

This image makes me sad - almost to the point of crying. Maybe that's because I alway assume loss of hair in animals as a stress related condition. Moving shot. |

WOW - beautiful capture. The B&W really does the animal justice - what an interesting subject and so very well positioned and captured. |
