Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Self Portrait VI (Advanced Editing V*)
Camera: Canon EOS-30D
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM II
Location: Rydal, GA
Date: Dec 4, 2007
Aperture: 6.3
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/80
Galleries: Snapshot, Self Portrait
Date Uploaded: Dec 4, 2007

I shot this in my studio with my Alien Bees in monochrome. Wanting to experiment.

Edits:

crop
cloned out some minor imperfections in the backdrop and on the shirt
burn the ring around the nose
burn the edges

Not a winner by far but it was fun. Only thing I wish was I would have thought and put a Bar Code on the mask. Maybe a filter would make it more real as well.

Special thanks to idnic for the title.

Great mask you have there. I would love to have that as a prop in my collection. I might have to try and find one now. Thanks.

Your eyes are glaring too much, that or I'm just not familiar with enough DPCers! BB

PS. I do like B&Ws and your photo is in focus (a definite plus with me)

Very clever, and the lighting is really good--those eyes really pop. The title is worth a thumbs up.

Technically very nice photo. Clear, I like bw... I usually don't give a point or two if I don't see any part of the face, but this one pretty good technically, I will skip my tradition :) Nice photo :)

Great lighting and idea... Hate not seeing the face though, but in this case, it works.

LOL, no clue, but I like your idea. Lighting is right on and the vignetting adds a nice touch.
