Challenge: Self Portrait VI (Advanced Editing V*)
Camera: Canon EOS-D30

Aperture: 5.6

A single exposure, no editing whatsoever (I have the RAW here to prove it!). Just me, a torch, camera on tripod with handheld shutter release, eight seconds and lots of silly faces.

I prefer being on the other side of the lens so this was an interesting challenge for my first entry. In the end I tried for hours with various torches and lights to try to get multiple sharp images and this is about as close as I could get. I think each 'face' was about 2s of flashlight - not easy keeping still in a dark room and waving a flashlight around I can tell you! I might have to invest in a strobe flash to save my homemade shenanigans in the dark...

I couldn't come up with anything better!! At the time my motorbike was in for a service so I couldn't get out too far to shoot anything, so was restricted to home...and I don't have any decent lighting at home, apart from an LED flashlight...so I used that and a bulb exposure and played around. I'm going to try to shoot it again once I've got an off-the-camera flash sorted. Ideally it'll have three different expressioned faced on it, and all three faces will be sharp - but merged.

Wow, your eyes match the neighboring head! That's kinda freaky. Nice lighting effects. BB

Three head idea is very popular. i almost did one too :P I like yours because you actually had your eyes mixed with other two faces. Idea is cool, execution is fine, but I only wish your faces would be a it sharper :) Overall is a good photo :)

You almost managed to make perfect quadrafocals out of the glasses. Clever.

Great idea and setup. I just think that if you were apart from yourself it would have made this a stronger image IMO. Nice work.

Yowza! They must have a lot of radiation where you live... :-) Seriously, very interesting result - nice merging of faces!

Nice overlapping on the eyes. Good focus, too; I know that can be hard, as I tried something similar. Might have tried a black shirt, or not lighting the shirt.

I like how your glasses are "fused" together. Interesting shot.
