Good pose, good props (love the duct tape on the case). I think it's probably already been mentioned that the lighting is a bit harsh - lemme read... Yep. Someone suggested shoplights - those are pretty handy (but they get hot!) or see if you can find a good urban setting for a shot like this. I much prefer using natural light when I can - mostly because I don't have any fancy studio lights but also because it makes shots more "real" to me. Good job getting yourself in focus - that's one of the hardest things to do with a self-portrait! |

Great shot CJ! Funny thing is I glanced through some of these during voting. I looked at this shot, but did not recognize you. LOL
I think you did a good job of getting the camera a bit higher, so that the flash from the camera causes the shadow to be slightly downword in direction. I agree with others that the light is a bit harsh for this type of shot.
The great thing with photoshop is that you can go to a hardware store and buy a haologen work light or two, and play with set ups for lighting and actually shoot with them. your camera will have a setting for that type of light, or just shoot in black and white...have some fun with it.
Great job.

You had this very nice, in a wrong place. This is my opinion only, you could do the same thing in a street, or basement... some place more dramatic. Also, a little more tight dof, bit more dark edges on the photo would make this photo excellent :) Overall, it's a good photo :) |

Nice pose, I love the guitar case. I'm finding the brightness a little at odds with the rocker look. |

I think this is a great SP, cause you kept the guitar in your hands, and not covering your face. I would have really loved to see this SP with maybe a graffitied wall or alley. Great composition though. |

The flash is a little bright for me but your stance is great. BB |

I like your ambivalence to the camera and focus on the instrument |

I am sorry, you look so uninspired. You also look like you're holding the bassguitar for the very first time. |

Cropped a little tight and the lighting is a bit harsh, but I am still convinced that you rock. :) Good luck, and get yourself a new guitar case. :) |
