This is stellar. A perfect way to portray this story. I can imagine this being the illustration in a children's book, actually. |

Wow, I loved this shot, and yes the story makes me cry too.
Though I thought it was a Brothers Grimm story, my mistake ;-) |

Creative shot, as we've come to expect from you. The shadows of the hand grabbing the matches really bring out the sadness of the tale
like somone mentioned this should get an OOBIE |

I don't know the story of the Little Match Girl and now that I have read your comments I see what a powerful picture this is. Well Done Michelle. Very well done. |

hmmmm yes lets not talk about the story of the little match girl as I am a chap and therefore suppose to be TOUGH. There were a few LMG images in the challenge and this had (genuinely) been my favourite of them
Love the B&W (and knowing the story the dead matches are a poigniant depiction of it) and I thought that the shadow 'picking up' the dead match was a very clever touch. From my perspective I may have liked to see a bit more space between the spent matches and the border, but I thought this was a cool shot |

This is a bit confusing, I'm not entirely sure what this is, but it looks kind of neat. I think part of what's confusing me is the texture of the surface the matches are on. Good try though. |

The shot brings lots of interest. I am a bit lost with the busyness of the background as it merges with the shadow and matches. |

An interesting picture but unfortunately I just don't get it. I can see burned matchsticks in what appears to be water and someone going to pick one up. I just don't get what's going on here...or what makes it particularly "Fairy Tale". As a photo it's really interesting and thought provoking, but as a Fairy Tale it's just too much of a reach. |
