 My daughter in the pile of leaves we raked up today.

I had a lot of fun with editing, with layers for gothic glow, soft light to change the relative brightness of her face vs. the leaves, changing her eyes to green, and a curve for contrast.

Gothic Glow is a Photoshop action available from Action Central. I find it works best as a layer over the original and lowering the opacity as opposed to full strength.

wow. this pic is gorgeous....i love the idea...i have one of my son..but he isn't actually IN the leaves...i never would have even thought of this.

I do like the autumn colours but the green eyes are a wee bit unnerving...guess that's the fairytale magic!

Beautiful rich, warm, colors and excellent light. I'm curious to know what you meant by "gothic glow". Is that some sort of blending mode or filter?

Love the soft and warm-orangey glow. It really does look like she is about to emerge from a sea of leaves. It's a very pretty photo.

What a pretty face, love those freckles. The leaves are a lovely foil for her skintone but her eyes maybe needn't have been quite so green, I think they still would have drawn the eye without being so saturated.

I love these type shots. The heavy duty editing works great and the eyes are a wonderful counterbalance to the color of the leaves. Very nice.
