hahaha...Karen you and I really need to have a discussion about what makes a 'bad' shot (can I point you in the direction of my challenge portfolio if you require some illustrations)
When I was scoring the challenge I had thought this was a greta idea and was quite envious of how you had caught the sparkler in action (though I would have liked all the sparkles contained in the image)
I like the leading diagonal and the placement on points of thirds. Maybe not one of your stop me dead in my tracks images but still a picture that I would have been more than happy to take myself

| Brilliant! I'm only new around here but if I were a betting man I'd be betting that this gets a ribbon. Great colours, detail, composition...all in a really appealing and directly relevant photo. Fantastic. |

| It's hard to shoot fireworks much less sparklers but you got the exposure just right! |

| good work with fire. I like the tips of the trails how they explode again. it looks a little dark and I can't make out the edges of the star, but maybe thats what you were going for. :) |
