 I stole the title from that little mermaid song.

I accidentally stumbled upon the awesomeness of the exclusion blending mode and this was the result. Then I did curves and random layers in various blending modes. This was also heavily cropped because the original showed that she was sleeping on a slab of concrete. not very fairy tale at all.

hopefully people realize that this is the dead snow white awaiting her prince's kiss from the somewhat vague title. although it COULD be interpreted as sleeping beauty, OR little mermaid since she's blue.

This was lit with natural light on a slightly overcast afternoon.

I got both the sleeping princess and the mermaid connection and loved it for that... I thought from the thumbnail that I wouldn't like this because you just colored it differently. But when I opened it, I saw how wrong I was - the entire feel of the image is magical. I think you did a great job.

First let me say I like the overall picture. I just can't decide which story this tells. Is she the princess you need to kiss to wake up? Or with the veins in her eyes and the green tint to her lips, is she getting ready to poison her kisser?

I like this one. The tinting is excellent and oddly enough the veins in the eyelids I would actually say even add to the shot. Somehow that is instantly where my eye was drawn and it adds to the shot for me. A great take on the challenge and I am sure this shot will do well.

Nice title, I hope too many don't miss the connection. I am not sure why you made her skin greenish though. otherwise its a great portrait for me :)
