I found this land development taking place in an otherwise untouched native forest. I thought it was an interesting comparison of 'passive and aggressive' conflict between nature and man.

I took about 20 photos of this area. I ended up choosing the above photo because of the interesting depth of field, and the illusion of the grass consuming the machinery.

I was a very overcast day, so the most difficult part was capturing enough light on the subjects to bring out the green and yellow contrast.

Sad but true.......VERY nice. I love the angle in which this was taken.

Nice shot, interesting DOF and composition. It doesn't convey the message of conflict by itself.

Good composition and DOF to nicely meet the challenge. Good shot.

We know who's going to win this conflict.

Good use of depth of field; priority of green and gold! Colours contrast well and fits the theme. Well done.

I think I see where you're going with this, but you'd pretty much have to have a clear-cut area with stumps and trees to pull it off. Even a gray squirrel or some other wildlife would have helped.

Not enough DOF there are flower that are out of focus. If the DOF would have been more shallow (isolate a single flower for example) or less shallow, (all the plant crisp clear in the foreground with the machine blurry in the background), it would have been a really great Shllow DOF entry. Unfortunately this is a conflict challenge and i just don't see a conflict. (4)

I like this alot. Very good idea. Creative take on the challenge. I like to see photos with meaning that aren't about comparing cameras, film to digital, relationship issues, or what alcohol to consume. Keep up the thoughtful work. 8

The grass is awesome, maybe a tad bit light. I understand the conflict your showing..progress. Ugh always tearing up somewhere. Good luck in the challenge.

I like the picture but would be improved maybe by getting the cat a little more out of focus.

Nice grass. Brave decision to make the larger half of the image out of focus.

I like your use of DOF in this shot... and it definately shows conflict.

Good story here.

Doesn't really make the conflict between the two. The two subjects seem to separated. Might be better with more DOF.

The background should have been in better focus.
