Location: Fort Myers, FL
Date: Nov 30, 2007
Aperture: f/5.6

Shutter: 1/50
Galleries: Self Portrait, Photo-Impressionism
Date Uploaded: Nov 30, 2007

I tried to create a portrait that could be immediately confusing and then confuse the eye again if attention wandered. The intent was to pull the eye back and forth between details of the face, the stubble, the hair and earing and the eye where the natural impulse is to look. I didn't intend the eye to rest comfortably. I partially desaturated the skin

processing looks weird and IMO doesn't do this image any justice.

I don't specially care for this much texturing. To much of an embossing effect for me. This is just my opinion. I do like the tight, close crop alot. BB

I like the aspect of this picture. In my opinion it is a little over processed however.

This seems a bit too photoshopped for me. I would have preferred sharpness to the painterly.

No, I don't like it. I'm guessing that the face is interesting enough, so why with this needless processing?

less processing and I'd raise this to top of the class. Excellent composition

If you didn't show your ear and your hair, I would give low score honestly. I think it's a unique photo, I like the colors, and post process. Good picture overall ;)

I feel the crop is a little strange and the pp work is too harsh for my taste.

I think your idea and pose are a really good idea. However I think your editing for a a SP is a bit much. Lighting and composition are very good though. Nice work.

I think it's a little overprocessed. The wrinkles have a nice interesting texture to them, I'd let them show naturally.

Wow... lots of texture, but the art filters ruin it I think.

Very brave to try something so different. I myself think its too overprocessed.

Don't care for the overprocessed "watercolor" here. Love the composition and colors, though.

interesting editing here, I actually kind of like it... I am not sure that the rest of the DPC crowd will think so though :)
