Like with yellowish, college-ish would be an adjective hinting to a somewhat college feel of this shot. I don't know why I thought this would be a college instead of a house, maybe because of the jeans (if I girl in my place has these kind of jeans, she'd definitely be in college), or maybe becuase of the empty floor. It could have been the sad face (I think it's sad because it feels homesick, and it feels homesick because it's looking out of the window).
I'l like to recommend again what Michael has said: experiment with lights. I guess you can get a couple of compact fluorescent table lamps and place them behind and sideways, so as to paint the scene with light. The point is seeing the light. A good (and very difficult) excercise would be getting rid of the reflections. Can you put a light source outside? |

I think your image portrays the title well (it tells a story), I like the depth of field, and the use of the window to show your reflection. Some simple things I would change to make this picture pop would be the lighting, levels and contrast.
With the lighting I would add some lighting behind you. That would add an interesting effect with the wall behind you lighting up but without any shadows of you on it. I don't know what that would do to your reflection however. Might have to experiment with that.
I would adjust the levels and contracts to make the whites white. The baseboard just doesn̢۪t appear to be a true color.
Overall I think it is a great picture. Good luck in the scoring. |

Great camera angle and composition. Plain lighting and minimal PP add to the mood. Left hand pose seems contrived (shutter release cable?) Bumping up to 8. |

Interesting perspective and the way the subject matter is presented reminds me of the work of Nan Goldin. I think the title is a bit overkill though. This is an image that is speaking for itself. |

Very college-ish, although, since shoes are already on my face, don't get me wrong, I don't mind it, but, since something is already so strongly there, why not having some other photos on the wall as well? Its emptiness bothers me. I like the expression on the face, I like it a lot. |

Nice perspective. Moody feel. This would look a lot better in B & W. |

Idea and composition are nice. Colors are not giving me the feeling in this photo as much as the subject. I think I rather see the face focused more than hands. Good story, sad but it is there. |

You need someone to make you smile when you're taking pictures. Sorry, had to say something about your expression. I like this angle and pose; it's kind of like a "mouses eye view"! BB |

You obviously lack the necessary lighting to make this look really good, but all the ingredients are there for a great shot - your creativity and composition are very good. Keep it up! |

I think the DOF works nicely on your SP. The lighting seems to be a bit off on the face, but the expression and idea is great. Nice job. |

why the sad face? I'd love to be a teenager again! I'm missing some sharpness on the face. |
