I suppose it's a novel way to get around those pesky DNMC voters.

People are being way too harsh on this photo. Your technicals could be better, focus and lighting specifically. But way to think out of the box. Hope you enter more.

OK, you took the challenge literally. Cute, but that probably won't win many people over, and it's not a very sharp picture. This may be competing for brown.
12/04/2007 10:33:51 AM
Hahahahah. Nice execution.
12/04/2007 09:31:36 AM
hmmm i think you could win the brown ribbon.
12/04/2007 07:33:39 AM
interesting approach, under exposed
12/04/2007 12:07:17 AM
photo is a little dark, you can try using levels and move the middle and right lider to the left to brighten. I think this would have been more successful if you had made the words out of something like rocks, peas anything. just my two cents
12/03/2007 07:33:46 PM
Sometimes nice to see a whatzit... but sometimes its better just to sit out a challenge too. Don't mean to be harsh.
12/03/2007 02:55:21 AM
Well, ok, so technically it meets the challenge title...
12/02/2007 12:03:55 PM
A fun approach, but lacking visual impact.
12/01/2007 10:46:17 PM
cute
12/01/2007 09:59:51 PM
Ha!

a clever, humerous take on the challenge but I believe that it has an appearance of being thrown together in a hurry. I feel that the the focus is a bit off and that this might have been better compositionally if written in the center of the page so the edge of the paper would not be in the frame.
11/30/2007 07:06:20 PM
Made me laugh:)...........what else can I say?
11/30/2007 03:13:24 AM
Good for art but not for a photo.
11/29/2007 10:03:27 PM
Heh. The 'd' in the upper right is out of focus, as is the 'cr' in the right crowd. Next time, I would go for a better depth of sharpness, and some stronger lighting would also be helpful. Finally, the table on the top and the right is destracting, and should either be cropped out or excluded from the composition.
11/29/2007 11:12:29 AM
This is the most flagrant abuse of the title, definition of the challenge, and laziest entry I have ever seen. 7 for sheer cojones!
11/29/2007 07:54:35 AM
While an interesting take on the challenge, I don't care for the composition with the edges of the paper and the OOF table/counter.
11/29/2007 05:42:46 AM
I got nothin
11/29/2007 04:41:51 AM
Simplistic.
11/29/2007 03:22:18 AM
Not really fond of the technicals, but bonus point for lateral thinking. Should have made us guess the title ;-)
11/29/2007 02:00:04 AM
Wow, congratulation on your creative entry.
11/28/2007 09:16:28 PM
Looks like a feeble attempt to enter anything... Maybe if you had made the lettering more professional looking, printed out a bunch of the words crowd from your computer it would improve it.
11/28/2007 05:11:53 PM
Very boring... be more creative next time :P
11/28/2007 05:09:32 PM
funny
11/28/2007 04:56:56 PM
this has the beginnings of a great pun !! a loan in a crowd .. mmm...
11/28/2007 04:01:37 PM
very funny!
11/28/2007 03:01:11 PM
This would have been more effective if it was full-screen and on unlined paper.
11/28/2007 12:43:24 PM
Very literal
11/28/2007 11:02:58 AM
The words around the edge should be one large "crowd" since it is "a" single crowd rather than "crowds" plural.
Other than that pedantry the picture suffers from a lack of depth of field and the positioning of the paper in relation to the background looks slapdash.

I'm not even going to vote on this. It's not the idea that's bad, it's the total lack of effort. I suspect you are shooting for the brown ribbon.

Too easy.... Maybe if the picture had more punch (more vivid colors or sharper), maybe....

Not quite enough for me.

We have a winner! Awesome crayon technique as well as a superb literal (or "literary") interpretation of the topic. If this doesn't ribbon, I will write such a rant! :P

I'd guess whiterook, but this is just too good.
