 I started with this photo, which I partially desaturated:

Then layered this photo taken through the windshield during the rain on the beach:



I think I used a 50% opacity. Then erased some of that layer off of the road from the first photo.

Ovelayed with this Shallow Water photo, which I flipped upside down and erased it off of the road again.



Finally, I used this filter at a 70% opacity, which is where the darkness comes from:



I found a 'galaxy' brush, which is big and diffused, and used it to paint some white on the Rain Swirl layer at 20% opacity.

I erased the Vintage filter in the middle and on the clouds, as well as on the road and the pillars next to the road.

The original photo had a white border, the Vintage filter has a grungy border, so I added a black border to the whole thing when it was finished.

I rather like the haunted effect of the finished product.

I'll be going to Daytona for the holidays again and will keep layering in mind when I shoot water and beach - best stuff for overlays!
