If you have any version of photoshop take a look at this tutorial. It will show you how to prepare your image for challenges and get your image to the 640 pixel 150 kb allowances. Your image is 480 pixel and only 38 kb. If you maximize your file size you will have smooth features around your bird and high contrast edges. Doing this will allow you to get a more accurate score as many people instantly knock off points for small photos and jagged edges thining it is oversharpened. Hope this helps. If you don't have PS try to find a save as function that allows you to set your own file size to 150 kb.

Very nice idea, and a fortunate shot with the bird still enough to photograph. Try to use the full dimensions allowed (640 on a side) to emphasize your work.

not a bad idea, but the bird tends to get lost in the picture as it is so small and you don't seem to have used the maximum image size either, which makes everything smaller again.

In an ideal world if you could have got essentially the same shot but the bird with a bit of sun lighting up it's plumage, in among the flowers (so they formed the backdrop instead of the fence) and cropped it in a bit tighter I think this could have been a really eyecatching shot.

but hey - wildlife and weather rarely co-operate :- )

This is tough for me to vote and comment 'cause I know how hard these little devils are to capture. I would have liked to see a little better DOF in the foreground. A nice capture of the hummer though!

It's a little small, and I would have liked to see the bird closer. Still, you got a hummingbird in mid flight! Nice!

The bird is too small. You need a longer zoom :)

nice catch. Sharpness could've helped a lot.

Where or what is the crowd? This just looks like a poor picture of a bird.
