This is one of the historic Elkmont Cabins in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, over 50 of them deserted for over 30 years, filled with treasures that are a photographer's dream. Perhaps drewmedia has disappeared into one of these cabins and restoring it complete with state of the art technology deep in the mountains of Appalachia; i worked on this for a long time, did a lot of dodging around the walls, especially behind the stove area, meticulously tweaked levels, sharpened, resized and resharpened again, tiny horizontal crop after resizing, selectively enhanced shadows and highlights throughout the photo to bring out the details and boosted the overall contrast; selectively tweaked the entire window area with sharpening and levels adjustments; this was shot at a focal length of 10 mm
Thanks for the nice comments on this shot. I had hoped it would break 6, as I think it's quite good but what I think on this site is normally the opposite of most all others here. |

| Wonderful. Love the bright colors and textures. I think I wish there was a person in here somewhere, though, or something else to focus my attention. What if you had a silhouetted person looking out that far window to the left? |
