 Sunrise on planet desklamp.

I took this sitting at my work desk with a piece of green paper behind the silver lamp and holding a piece of purple paper above it.

Then I spent ages reshooting to get rid of the white reflection on the right but in the end I chose this one because it makes it more mundane. And it gives everyone something to complain about.

This is virtually as the file came out of the camera rotated 180ยบ.

Good abstract of shapes and colour. Nice shot I like shallow dof but imo this would work better with a deep dof so the edges of the colour will be crisp and would look cleaner. Just a thought. This is well done.

I like the color contrast in this. I think if more of the "deathstar" was in focus, it would be even more interesting.

While this is good, I'm wondering about which hole should be the main focus. If the focal plane had been on the actual rim, maybe the crisp separation between the objects would make the image stronger. I'm not sure, though. Maybe you can post an alternative after the challenge is over.

Pretty shallow DOF here. Maybe better suited for a macro theme. I like the color combination, however.

Reminiscent of a shot from the Matrix challenge. Colouring is good, and puts the image into a non-mundane area, for sure. I'm not sure that you wouldn't really want to make this a very symmetrical composition, given that it's such a pure image, and simple picture: the slight tilt, and placing the pattern of the holes so far up frame works rather against the very abstract quality of it. Certainly meets challenge subject though.
