The movie "Road to Wellville" was made about Battle Creek Michigan, and about WK Kellogg. This is where he is from, and me too.

Unfortunately, the sky blends with the metalwork on the sign.

Amazing they can keep it so crispy.

This is a good idea for the challenge as it definitely shows me your corner of the world! The composition seems off to me, though. You may want to consider not centering your subject (application of the rule of thirds might have strengthened this); also the pole is a distraction. -ClubJuggle

I would have gotten a closer view of the sign and moved it toward the lower left corner. Just a suggestion :-) 6 nards656

the surrounding area seems cluttered and ineffective. Perhaps getting closer to the sign and taking the shot from an angle would allow you to show both the sign and the rain at the same time. 3

Really like frosted flakes :) Are you from Battle Creek? I can't remember where this is.. lol... Too bad the weather wasn't cooperating with you... I know this can be a pain sometimes :) - setzler

very centralised subject - you could have done with being a lot closer too, so that it filled the frame more.

how about a close up of the sign with some more exciting sky in the background. or close enough to get the drops running down tony's face. either that or show me something besides the little drops in the street to let me know it's raining.

This shot isn't as intersting as it could have been. Simply taking a picture of a sign doesn't boost my rating for this picture.

Battle Creek?

I took that tour (I guess they don't give the tour nowadays?) back in 1985, and I can remember smelling nothing but Corn Flakes for two solid days! Anyway... this brings back some memories, but I'm not sure if this is the most compelling of shots. I would have considered getting a much closer shot of the sign (eliminating the distracting cars/road, etc.)... or another symbol of the company that may have been more visually interesting.

I can see it was a rainy day, but the light pole on the right leads the eye right up out of the picture.

says it all.

<lol> Cereal City...WOW just a fun shot. If we didn't have Kelloggs in my house we wouldn't have dinner at least two nights a week! Good luck. Score 7 Justine

battle creek is fun and so is a trip to cereal city! I am glad not to live in Michigan any longer, tho. You captured the entrance quite nicely and the foggy rain did a good job of obscuring an otherwise bland parking lost. What if you cropped in even more or shot the line as the cereal boxes rolled down just inside the door? Did you try catching Tony as he walked around/among the tourists? Just other ideas that might have had more wow factor. Nicely done.
