 This is one of those images that you work on for hours and then when you look at the whole picture, you say 'eh'.

I'm not so thrilled with the outcome, but it was a good exercise in working with layers and filters.

I took this image



and used the Rust Filter with the overlay blending mode.



I erased the eyeball area with 40% opacity.

Then I layered on the Seaweed Filter:



Rotated and resized it so the seaweed portion was over the right glasses lens. I erased everything except that lens and used the overlay blending mode there, too - I think.

THEN I used goodman's famous cracked glass filter (I don't have it in my filter's folder, but it's floating around a lot on dpc).

My plan was to put the cracked portion over the left glasses lens. So I erased everything except that area and played with blending modes. Nothing looked good - and I ended up doing a dodge on it and came out with that somewhat crass yellowish light, which I kinda liked.

I played around with the eyeballs, since there were reflections that I didn't want. In the end all I did was make the eyes look scary and dead. But at that point I was too spent to fix it - and it was very late, too.

great processing ... this would really pop better if you used your original eyes .. love the the catchlights or reflections in them .. :)

I love the colors you get from that rust filter. I think the result is very intriguing; I love that the eyeglasses are included.
