 This is the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC, its towers have never been completed. Recently, they've taken the scaffolding down from one of the towers and it looks really strange, unfinished...

Here's another point of view:


I'm sure for a better photographer this perfect subject for this challenge would have been a surefire ribbon. Hard to get a good point of view though, the cathedral is really surrounded with buildings.

Anyway - thanks for the nice comments and 15th place! I agree that it looks a bit as if the church was cut out and placed on the background. However, the thin white line on the edge in the upper left is not from processing - it was there from the beginning!

I really like the subject a bunch and the sky is a great bonus, but there seem to be a bit of artifacts along the top left portion of the image (white line) that is distracting

Looks a bit unreal (because of sharpening or usm) but it's a nice photo and good idea.

not sure how i feel, looks like the building was cut out and placed on a separate picture of a night sky...its the edges...looks odd especially on the pointed part /5

This is a beautiful image and I am tyring ti see the missing top, and when I do, it makes this look like a puzzle or model or something that isn't real. Interesting.
